Meet Isela Carmean, LCPC

I am dedicated to assisting clients in recognizing and overcoming their own fears and issues with confidence. "Do not let fear hold you back, instead, fear not taking the chance to try," is a powerful message that encourages us to push past our fears and take on life's challenges head-on.

My specialties are aiding individuals, couples, and families in enhancing their communication abilities, navigating difficult transitions, and managing anxiety and depression. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques, all while infusing my approach with kindness, empathy, and a touch of humor. My training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy has also been a valuable resource in guiding couples to develop the empathy and curiosity essential for strengthening their emotional bond and navigating their relationship successfully.

My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. I have gained valuable experience working in both private practice and non-profit organizations, further shaping my understanding of the significance of mental health.

During my free time, I cherish moments spent with my family exploring nature and the city's offerings. I also enjoy tending to my tropical plant collection as it brings me a sense of tranquility.

If you are prepared to implement positive changes and feel empowered, I am here to offer guidance and support!
