About Therapy
I work primarily with individuals ages 25 to 45 on a variety of concerns that you will find listed below under Specialties. Because of my training and experience in primary care and health psychology, I believe therapy is more than simply addressing emotional issues. I focus extensively with my clients on improving both their physical and mental well-being including concerns about alcohol use, sleep, diet, and exercise.
I utilize a collaborative approach and together we will form goals at the beginning of treatment as well as at the end of each session, which allows you to be working consistently towards more positive growth.
I frequently incorporate humor into treatment (the ups and downs of life are often the things that can make us laugh the hardest!) I utilize a direct yet compassionate approach as I believe feedback is one of the most crucial elements to reaching your goals.

'Sober Curious,' Alcohol Moderation and Sobriety
Many adults wish to moderate their alcohol use or are 'sober curious.' Reducing alcohol consumption improves one's physical health and can reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms. Dr. Ori works with individuals who are seeking a different relationship with alcohol who may not need more intensive substance abuse treatment.
About Dr. Ori
If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I am fortunate that this is true for me. Working with clients on achieving their life goals and watching their transformations gives me so much satisfaction. While problems can never be erased from life, I help enhance your ability to cope and deal with them effectively.
As someone who has struggled with anxiety, I understand the difficulties of going through life's many transitions. I especially love to work with individuals on many of the same issues that I have overcome and help them take control of who they seek to become.
In my free time, I enjoy staying active, trying samples at my local Trader Joe's as well as trying to replicate my Nonna's Italian recipes. Although I am not a botanist, I put forth a great deal of effort trying to keep my plants alive. When not at Trader Joe's or singing Italian lullabies to my plants, I enjoy sharing laughs with my husband, family and friends, as well as traveling to new places.
I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Adler University in Chicago and my Bachelors from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
